About This Group:

Building Resilience offers a safe and flexible space where group members can focus on skills development and personal understanding of their relationship with alcohol and/or drugs. The group is led by an experienced group facilitator in the field of substance use treatment.

Each session offers new topics, skills, and exercises that address the underlying issues driving substance use. Group members are supported in understanding their patterns of substance use and increasing their ability to effect change. Group members also learn how to share and process their experiences, build tools to cope with triggers, and develop a customized change plan for abstinence or reduction.

This is an "open group", offering rolling intakes and flexible attendance; you can start at any time and do not have to attend every week. The group capacity is eight participants per session and requires registration ahead of time to secure a spot for the week.

Individual Consultations and Group Q & A Sessions

We understand that you may have questions and concerns about participating in a group treatment for substance use. We offer a free 15 minute consultation with the group facilitator, and a free group Q & A session, where potential group members can ask questions about the group and meet the group facilitator.

Participation Requirements:

Participants must be 18+ and residing in Ontario. All genders and all stages of recovery are welcome to attend, however participants must not be under the influence during the group sessions.
