About Tofunmi

Pronouns: She / Her / Hers

Starting therapy can feel unfamiliar, and I believe that feeling comfortable with the person you’re talking to makes a big difference. I try to bring a calm, curious, and non-judgmental presence to therapy, where you can feel understood while also being gently challenged to see things from a different perspective. I see therapy as a partnership, and I hope to create a space where we can be open, ask questions, and figure things out together.

I’m especially interested in working with young people navigating anxiety, self-esteem, school-related challenges, and questions around culture or racial identity. I also care deeply about supporting Black and racialized young people and families as they navigate experiences related to culture, school, family, and acculturation. Before this placement, I worked with transition-aged youth in community settings and supported youth and adults in outpatient mental health, where I gained experience using approaches such as CBT and DBT.

I’m continuing to learn and grow as a therapist, and I believe that growth can happen on both sides of the therapeutic relationship. I’m excited about the possibility of getting to know you, learning what works best for you, and growing together throughout the process.

Note: Tofunmi is currently a student intern. Her work is supervised by Katherine Hall, MSW RSW.
